Finance Available for FLC Clients
A divorce or separation can be a lengthy process and cash flow problems may arise. Family law finance available via family law consultancy is one way to help you manage the cost of funding your case during this stressful period. Based in Norwich and serving Norfolk, family law finance is available to assist you through the divorce or separation process.
Finance available for your divorce or separation
Many people experience cash-flow issues before they receive their final divorce settlement, with several factors contributing to this situation. Bank credit is increasingly difficult to obtain, Legal Aid services have been discontinued and divorce costs are often regarded as un-budgeted expenses.
If you are a client of Family Law Consultancy, you can seek case funding with a client credit account. We can confirm whether family law finance would be available in your case and assist you with the application process.
What is a client credit account?
A client credit account finances the cost of your divorce legal fees and disbursements (subject to status) for a maximum of 24 months, or earlier if your case is completed. Interest on the loan is calculated at a rate of 1.25% (variable) per month and is only charged in relation to the value of the costs actually paid out from the account.
Our solicitors are able to assist you with the application process for a client credit account, should you require one. If you would like more information about client credit accounts, please visit:
How to repay your family law finance
To repay the family law finance, you are expected to make the monthly minimum repayments. However, you may also choose to pay more than the minimum payment, or at any stage, repay the entire balance without being penalised. Once a settlement has been reached (or a Consent Order made), the client credit account is then due to be repaid in full. You can use the account at any stage of the proceedings. Family law finance is only available in respect of financial cases where you expect to receive a lump sum at the end of your case
Although we facilitate the credit account through several credit providers, they are completely separate from Family Law Consultancy. We receive no payment from these providers, and we are also not able to make a recommendation on other loans or funding options. If you want to learn more about financial options open to you, we recommend that you seek independent financial advice.
